今天,沉睡了很多年曾徑風光一时Lucent Technologes Inc,股票代號U,終于爆發出来了,短短两個小时以破记录成交额達三億股跳空突破長期200天線,也發出了強烈买进信號,在美国有那位朋友买股票的不妨一试买入持它一年时间,有很好回报。附上图表參考：

In my humble opinion, Lucent has very limited upside.  LU had a nice pop last Friday with heavy volume, but that was because Lucent confirmed that it was in talks to be acquired by Alcatel. There is no evidence of sustained investor interest in Lucent.

I don’t read charts when I analyze stocks.  Rather, I look at the fundamentals of the companies.  Lucent’s fundamentals are week.  It does have a fairly strong optical division, and its CDMA infrastructure business is doing well thanks to multi-billion dollar contracts from Verizon Wireless and Sprint.  But Lucent is weak in data network products, and it is not a factor in the increasingly important broadband access market.  Overall, LU has little top line growth.  I personally would not hold that stock for a year.  It’s likely that Lucent will not be an independent company in a year.

Lucent and Alcatel are still in merger talks.  They are calling the potential deal a “merger of equals” even though it’s really an acquisition of Lucent by Alcatel.  With a “merger of equals”, Alcatel is not paying any premium for the Lucent stock.  So if they successfully work out a deal, the Lucent stock will probably not go up.  If they fail to reach a deal, the LU will likely give up the recent gains
