BigPaul,
Do you recall the outdoor trips in our elemetary school?
* We brought our own pots, and pans to the outings (very vague memory)...
* We pitched in, to bring cooking oils, and rice, and preserved meats? But always find a few things missing when it comes diner times? It was in Chairman Mao era? We, the next generation needs to be rugged, can withstand the rigor of outdoor life, to prepare for the next invasion???...
* There was always a few guys, went out to gather some wild weeds, saying that these plants are good to eat, just as good vegitables...They were survivor of the fittest. Years later, I had an American friend did the same thing in primitive back-packing. He could make a salad from the trails he hiked, you know how enjoyable that is, after eating preserved foods for a week...
* Camping foods are always more delicious, especially after a long day hike. You are tired, but happy, and gratified over camp fires, sharing the foods with friends over camp fiires... In your reflections: Foods is really just a compliments, eat all you can, it is the the spirits, chit-chats, and conversation over camp fires that drawn you to it...
Those were the good days, in many respects. Should Class78 reunion 2008 be this way??? Uhhhh...
