William McKinley 威廉·麦金利 William McKinley was born in Niles, Ohio, in 1843. He served in the U.S. House of Representatives for 14 years and two terms as governor of Ohio before becoming the 25th President in 1897. 威廉·麦金利于1843年出生在俄亥俄州的奈尔斯。在1897年他成为美国第25任总统之前,他曾在美国众议院服务14年,担任二届俄亥俄州州长。 In 1899, President McKinley signed an act into law that authorized the coinage of a silver dollar now known as the Lafayette dollar.
